When cooking porridge, you should soak the rice 1 hour in advance then clean it. Remember to add a small handful of sticky rice to boil together. When the porridge starts to boil, put a spoon of cooking oil in the pot to prevent the porridge from spilling out and to increase the flavor.
If you have time, you can soak the rice for 2-3 hours for bigger grains.
If you do not want to add the oil, you can leave the chopsticks on the pot to prevent the porridge from spilling out.
