Chung cake is a Vietnamese traditional dish of expressing the gratitude of the descendants to their ancestors and their country. Chung cake contains the national soul.
The cake is made from delicious glutinous rice, green beans and fat meat wrapped in square dong leaves, then brought to boil. When the cake is ripe, it has the natural green color of dong leaves and the aroma of the glutinous rice. The cake is often made on the traditional Tet holidays of Vietnamese people.
